The body of Colonel Samaila Inusa, the late Army Officer that was
killed barely a day after his abduction, was yesterday laid to rest at
the old Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Muslim Cemetery.
Prior to the burial ritual, a prayer session was held at the 44
Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Mosque in the presence of relations,
colleagues and friends.
There were also three gun salute by officers in honour of their departed colleague.
The Chief of Army Staff, who was represented by the Chief
Administrative Officer, Major General Ado Abubakar, mourned the
abduction and death of the officer, saying that it was a great loss to
the Nigerian Army.
According to him, the deceased was a devouted officer who never shirked
his responsibilities, stressing that the army authorities will leave no
stone unturned in trying to unravel the circumstances of his kidnap and
murder.
The late Colonel Inusa, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Saturday
night, and was later found dead around Ajyaita village, off Eastern
Bypass in Kaduna on Monday.
Before his demise, Colonel Inusa was serving at the Armed Forces and
Command and Staff College, Jaji.
He was transferred to Jaji from the 81
Battalion located in Bulabulin, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno
State, where he was the Commander.
