The police yesterday arraigned three men at a Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, for disturbing the public peace.
The defendants, Dauda Nupe, 28; Haruna Mudi, 32; and Stephen John, 30; of Idu, Abuja, were charged with criminal conspiracy, public disturbance and attempt to commit an offence.
He said that the defendants were found at Good View Hotel Life Camp, drunk and breaking bottles and distracting the attention of passersby.
The prosecutor said that the defendants through their dubious and nefarious act were attempting to commit an offence.
He said the offences contravened Sections 79, 114 and 95 of the Penal Code.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Senior Magistrate, Nuhu Tukur, admitted them to bail in the sum of N100, 000 each and a surety each.
He ordered that the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction of
the court, and adjourned the matter till April12 for hearing. (NAN)
